Description

Hey guys,

I decided to make this 3D version of my most favorite, and still the best looking of the Lupin III Recreations, the poster to "Bye Bye Liberty Crisis."

I love this picture, and since the whole media industry is getting into the full swing of things with the 3D technology, I figured to should turn a few of my older images into 3D. And down the line I will make more pictures that after the fact I will make 3D as well.

It's actually much easier to build a picture flat, and then make it 3D, then to make it 3D in the beginning.

This is actually a painstaking process, but it can be accomplished within 2 hours, especially on a difficult one like this.

You see, this wasn't done with photoshop but it works the same. Basically you take each layer of the image and use the spacial camera to move around your image in 3D space. Then you move each later back farther and farther depending on the distance you want them from your virtual camera. Then once they are all at the proper distance, you switch back to the regular view camera and play around with the layers. What you have to do now is center the layers again, and enlarge them to visually fit back to where they were in the original image. Having an image layer of the original flat image would be great for reference here in this process.

Once you have all the layers lined up and they look like the original image, they are just at different depths. You go into the preferences and turn on the anaglyph 3D function, and then render the image. It will render the image twice, once for red and once for blue and then show you the composite.

I honestly don't think this image turned out too well. Mostly because it's extremely rainbow, so the red and blue glasses do it no justice. But I'll let you guys be the judge of it if you happen to have some 3D glasses lying around.

Once the general public can start messing around with clear 3D technology and we get more 3D computer monitors, these kinds of pictures will look much better.

Catch ya later.
