This is the first of 3 artworks dedicated to my three most favorite musical composers.
Today's subject is Yanni: A very accomplished pianist who started creating new age music back in the early 80s. He grew to major popularity in the 90s with his concert at the Acropolis having been featured in other big venues and broadcast on PBS stations across the US.
My great aunt introduced my mom and grandmother to him back in the early 90s, and I in turn was introduced to him by my mother. His music was the first I ever listened to when I went to bed, which has now led to my enjoyment of 2 other composers' music both day and night. It's really the most pleasant way to go to sleep, I think.
His greatest works are evocative, surreal, full of expression; and they form new images in my head every time I listen to him. His was the music that jump started my imagination into the way it is today. In fact his 3rd album (of which half of this image is derivitive of) was called "Keys To Imagination", and I can't thank him enough for giving me the gift of his work.
This is my first tribute to a great musical genius.
